Open Field Rice/Paddy (straw) Stubble Burning and its harmful effects.

Air Pollution

As proved by the study shown here, for every one ton of open field rice/paddy (straw) stubble burning, the following impact on the atmosphere is observed:

  • Approx. 1.5 tons of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is released.
  • 60 kg of Carbon Monoxide (CO) is released.
  • 200 kg of ash is released.
  • 2 kg Sulphur Dioxide (SO2) is released.
  • 3 kg particulate matter is released.
